Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Erhard Bernstein clubYour visit is most welcome. Thank you.
I am so happy that you like the scene. Apparently, this is England smallest station.
I did find a youtube clip about it too....
Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,
Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteGlad you have enjoyed it.
This was towards the end of the day, as the rain set in. I was looking for close up shots, particularly where I could wait in the dry, and the signal box was ideal.. The two gentlemen in there were great.
The cobbled street did look slippy (and probably was), but I had no problem driving up it. (OK, I still have the winter tyres on from Germany in December, and they do grip very well...)
Best Wishes

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Janet Brien clubThank you so much for your enthusiastic visit and your wonderful comments. I am very happy that you think it worth of inclusion onto a calendar!
The rectangular building is the signal box, and you can see the inside of it in the link above.
The locomotive does get around a bit.. It was waiting patiently in siding on the Severn Valley railway when the locomotive I was on passed it.. www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/44664808 and of course it was in the shed that morning.https://www.test.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/48300048 .
What you can't clearly see in the picture is the second locomotive, 45596 'Bahamas', ( www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/48369350 ) just behind it.
Best Wishes
Peter

This is beautifully framed and good to get the 'Beware of Trains' sign in! I love the fence and path to the left. Just like so many stations I have been to, especially in the 1960's.
Best wishes, Rosa.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneThank you so much for visiting, and your kind comments. I am really pleased that you found so much in it. The path to the left is actually the 'road' serving the station, and as Steve has suggested, is rather steep. Have you ever visited this station on your travels?
Best Wishes
Peter
A wonderful composition here!!
I too love the fence and path to the left! It reminds me Highley Station...
A big YS!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to gezginruh clubThank you so much for your wonderful visit here. Unfortunately we never got to visit here in 2012, but I hope this picture makes up for it. I can certainly see the resemblance to Highley.. www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/43577350 which of course is a very special station...!!
Love Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Ecobird clubI am so pleased that you have enjoyed it. In a way, it reminded me of a similar scene in Cornwall, with the train passing so close to somebodys house..https://www.test.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/47521246 .
In fact this is a delightful little station, and well worth a photo of some sort.
Best wishes
Peter
Also very impressed with the pip as that must have been difficult lighting
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Roger (Grisly) clubThank you for visiting!
I'm pleased that you have enjoyed them!
As for the interior, the guys were very nice, they let me set the thing up before the train got here, so it would all come together..
Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,
Peter
