I am so happy that you like the scene.
As I said in the sunset picture, I had wanted to photograph the moon in some kind of context, so I thought this windmill would work, as the moon would rise in about the right place. The previous night had been quite bright too, even though not a supermoon.
We have to try these things!!
Best Wishes, and a Good Week ahead,
Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to gezginruh clubThank you so much for your very quick visit to this moonlight scene. Your kind comments and star make me very happy!
It was nice to share the rising of the moon with you!
It looked very red at first, then changed to a more normal colour. It was certainly very big!
Who knows what will happen with the next full Moon in May!
Love Peter

Only slightly later than www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/48503112 (and looking the opposite way). this is what I had gone out to try and capture. The night before had been very similar, so that persuaded me...
I am pleased you found it interesting.
Best Wishes, and a Good Week ahead,
Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteMany people have noticed the very large, reddish moon in the skies over this holiday, even though it is not a supermoon. Maybe weather conditions?
I thought I would try something different for the context of this big full moon..
I look forward to seeing your pics when you post them.
Best Wishes

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Steve Paxton clubI really value your judgement on such matters, and so your kind comments make me very happy.
Many people have said that the moon looked unusually bright, maybe something to do with the freak weather conditions we had over Easter (very hot!). Over the 40 minutes since moon rise I did try a lot of different things, but the earlier ones (very low elevation) were no good, as it was too hazy. Obviously a lot brighter than the eclipse we had in January!!
I hope your cloud clears!
Best Wishes

I was looking for a different scenario for the moon rise, so I am happy that you think this idea worked!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Herb Riddle clubSuch kind words from yourself are always much appreciated. I had seen the moon the night before (an observation others have made too), so tried to find a different place to capture it. This windmill seemed a good choice as it is quite high, and unrestricted access all round. I got there just in time for the sunset picture www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/48503112 , and then watched the moon rise , very red at first, taking pictures fro around the next hour. This was the one I liked best, and I am happy that you have appreciated it too.
Best Wishes
Peter
PS, it was still light enough to see, as I suppose it was still in 'the blue hour'.
Best wishes, Rosa.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneThis was the big moon I had seen the night before, and thought might look nice with something. The idea of the windmill came very late in the day!!
I am so pleased that you like it!!
Best wishes
Peter
PS Love the Earlier capture also.

Obviously I had planned to be there for the moon rise, but didn't know exactly what I could make of it. I am so happy that you like the scene.
Best Wishes, and a good week ahead.
