Have a great week, Best wishes, Sarah
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Sarah O' clubThank you so much for your wonderful words here, I am really happy that you have enjoyed it so much. This tree is in my back garden, and has just come into blossom. The bees were very busy that day, but it needs a better person than me to identify the bee, or the tree!!
Best Wishes
Peter
Best regards, Rosa.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneYour wonderful words here have made me very happy, thank you so much! I spent a while, and 40 or so pictures. of the bees around this tree. As usual most were rubbish, but the odd one I figured might be worth keeping..
As I said to Ssarah, I don't know what species it is, the black tail didn't figure in my identification book! (Nor do I know what kind of tree it is either, it just grows nicely in my garden, and overhangs the patio!!)
Best Wishes
Peter

Hats off to a stunning photo at 82 mm, Keep up the safe work.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Steve Paxton clubYour visit and wise words are really appreciated. Generally, our bees are quite docile (unless really tormented), but wasps are much nastier. Even then, unless you threaten them or their nest, there is not usually a problem, but in your case I agree, not worth the risk!!

As for the name f the bee, I thought only the females had the pollen sacks, so it must be Betty...
(Or maybe I was wrong...)
