A lovely shot indeed Peter and nicely framed on too ... great capture in the way the exhaust frames the train ..
Most certainly saved in fav's with a YS

Glad you like it. I had been to this exact spot with Alan many years ago, but today this was one of the special trains on the gala. As for the exhaust, the wind was blowing the right way, and then I picked the best of the pictures..
Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,
Peter

I am so happy that you like the scene. I did have pretty well the whole place to myself. A couple of other guys were sat on the embankment on the right, but I don't reckon very much to their view...

Have a great weekend, my friend. :-)

I am pleased you found it interesting. Of course we railway photographers always try to pick places where the locomotive is working hard, and on a cold morning, which really shows up the exhaust, and then think where the wind is blowing, sun is shining, and so many other things..
I enjoy to photograph them too!
Best Wishes, and a Good Week Ahead,

You may remember this place from the 'Railway Children' film. The tunnel is underneath my feet!
Since it is usually quiet here, you can always hear the train start from Oakworth, and forge its way up the gradient..
Best Wishes, and a good week ahead,
Peter

I do have a close up of the wires on the nearest telegraph pole, and yes, they do appear to connect to something!!
