Approaching Keighley

The locomotive is Stanier Class 5 #45212, arriving with the afternoon freight from Damems.
The house in the middle of the picture is quite old!
Other houses from the same era, built by the mill and factory owners for their employees, have been found in old pictures. All except Dundee street and this one, are gone.

Best wishes .... Steve
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteThank you so much. This street is not so bad for pictures, there is shelter under the bridge, or if you are lucky, you might get a parking spot along here! Perhaps on a nice day the stone might look a little different!!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Herb Riddle clubI must agree that it looks pretty much like any northern town would have looked, grey stonework, and plenty of rain.. Of course all the old relics are gone.. Maybe you can visit again on a nice summer day, and we'll see some nice pictures!!
Best Wishes
Peter
Thank you for this wonderful sharing and the explanation. Dundee street is one of most beautiful at that old picture already. So I am pleased that it is there still. Unfortunately cities are changing quickly now...
You have done a beautiful background ,adding this old house!
I like the composition very much!!
A big YS!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to gezginruh clubThank you so much. Your old picture was a very interesting find, and between us we did a lot of historic investigations, and yes, we found the last few old houses!!
Here, on this dull miserable day, we see a freight train coming down the branch line from Hawarth, and waiting to be allowed into Keighley station.
Certainly a lot of nice things to be discovered in the pictures!
Love Peter

I know there are a few preserved railways on the East coast of America, as I have been to them a long time ago (pre-digital age), but maybe I can post something from the Baltimore museum..
I must say that it is fun to sound the whistle.. Both driver and fireman can do it..
