Wishing you an HFF and hope you have a good up and coming weekend
Best wishes .. Steve
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteThank you so much for your very kind visit.
I'm pleased that you have enjoyed it!
I must admit that I was rather surprised by this selection, but I also guess that these would be the most commonly damaged items, so why not keep a good stock of them!!
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, and a Good Weekend,
Peter
It makes sense - after their wash, hang them out to dry!
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Andy Rodker clubThank you for visiting!
I am so happy that you like the scene.
They are a genuine scrap yard, so I think this is their approved storage method!
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, and a Good Weekend,

your photo makes me smile. And it's a fantastic idea to dry car parts. HFF, wish you a sunny weekend !

Certainly an interesting idea they had been in the washing machine, and hung out to dry!
I think the reality is that they are just being stored to take up least space!

Are replacement front bumpers in demand in the county?
HFF and a great weekend
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Roger (Grisly) clubThank you so much for your very kind visit.
Glad you like it. As I said to Steve above, I suppose the thing which gets damaged the most would be the bumpers, especially in supermarket car parks, crowded streets, etc, so a good stock is a good idea!!
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, and a Good Weekend,

HFF, and enjoy the weekend, Herb

I actually took the photo from the platform of Froghall station while waiting for a train, but I suppose the idea is not unique!!

The first time I have seen anything like that! I have to say, it makes it easier to look for the right part....if you need it ;-)) Very good and original shot.
HFF and happy weekend.
Regards, Rosa.

When we were young, a motor car scrap yard was simply a pile of old cars, and you were let loose to go and find what you wanted. These days, with elf n safety etc, things are a little more organised. Stock is stored, catalogued , put on computer, and in this case, neatly stored on the fence so as not to take up valuable space!! Probably easier to just go and look on the fence than 1000 key strokes on the computer!!
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, and a Good Weekend,
Peter
Just down the road about a mile or less away there is a motorcycle/ATV parts yard that I'd love to wander around in some day to lose myself in macro photography...it goes on and on and has zillions of EVERYTHING in rows, stacks and piles. People love to go there to get their odds and ends pieces to repair their vehicles!
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Janet Brien clubThank you very much!
I am so happy that you like the scene.
I actually took it standing on the platform of Froghall railway station ( www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/48195036 ) while waiting for the next train to come. There is a river between, and so these parts are in their yard, behind their fence.
I am sure you could have a lot of fun with macro photos of car parts, and electronic parts too...
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, and a Good Weekend,
Peter
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Valfal clubThank you very much!

In all honesty, I was not looking for it, just happened to see it while idly hanging around the station... (as I mentioned to Janet above)...
As I think we have said before, just keeping your eyes open works wonders!!
