Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Erhard Bernstein clubThank you for your kind visit here!
Usually there is a steam train every week along here at Christmas time, and usually around sunrise in this spot.. So, we pick our time and place, and if we are lucky the sky is clear, and it snows!
Best Wishes
Peter
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to bonsai59 clubThank you so much for visiting. As you can see, it is quite an old photo now, but a scene not forgotten. Of course you are right about the cold weather.. Always better pictures, and you have better winters than we do!
Best Wishes
Peter
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Nick Weall clubCertainly the sight of one of these on the route they were designed for is an impressive memory.
I am so pleased that you are re-living it.

Wonderful, fearless Sir Nigel with his glorious puffs of vapor like an ancient knight against a hypothetical dragon living in the snow.. Forgive my excessive imagination, but this was my first impression and also the second ..a d the third again..
Loving it so much, my best wishes.Bea

The winter snow and a loco working hard is a joy to see,
sadly we get little main line action in winter, have a lovely Sunday.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Roger (Grisly) clubYour visit is most welcome. Thank you.
I am so happy that you like the sight of this express, just like the old days.
There are usually a few Xmas steam specials scheduled along this line, to places like York, Lincoln, etc, (although this year they do seem rather thin on the ground at the moment)
Best Wishes, and a Good Weekend,
Peter
Cheers, Herb
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Herb Riddle clubWhile I could not control the sunrise, I did pick the spot where I though the train might be when it did rise! I am pleased that you think my reckoning worked out!!
