First Night (The) (Love Hangover)

In 1976 the self-titled top ten album from Diana Ross featured her hit, the chart topping “Love Hangover” (Marilyn McLeod – Pam Sawyer). The issue was nominated for a Grammy. During her enviable music career Diana was involved with Motown CEO Berry Gordy that resulted in the birth of her first child. She dated Gene Simmons of Kiss and now has seven grandchildren. This track was edited to the dance portion.

Monica’s (Brown) 1998 album “The Boy Is Mine” included “The First Night” (Tamara Savage – Jermaine Dupri – Marilyn McLeod – Pam Sawyer) which relied on a sample of Love Hangover”. The single hit number one Pop, R&B and Dance on Billboard and number six in the United Kingdom. Wikipedia: “Monica's career slowed down in 1999 due to problems in her relationship with ex-boyfriend Jarvis Weems. In July 2000, the couple were together at the gravesite of Weems's brother, who had died in an automobile accident at age 25 in 1998. Weems then, without warning, put a gun to his head and committed suicide.”
