Once Too Often

The 1944 film “Pin Up Girl” had Betty Grable introduce “Once Too Often” (Mack Gordon – James V. Monaco). Charlie Spivak and His Orchestra provided the backing. The movie included Betty’s famous swimsuit photographs.

“Once Too Often” became a hit recording for Ella Fitzgerald. Her interpretation peaked at number twenty. Among Ella’s awards are fourteen Grammys including a Lifetime Achievement Award, George and Ira Gershwin Award, Kennedy Center, National Medal of Art, Presidential Medal of Freedom, Honorary Doctorates from Yale, Dartmouth, Princeton and Harvard, Hollywood Walk of Fame, NAACP Image Award.
