Langstone Harbour Houses

Langstone Harbour Houses
Langstone Village is a lovely little place and there are several houses which sit right on the waterfront. These are a few of them. I've walked along the sea wall here frequently since I was a child and I've always thought that this would be a lovely place to live. I'd need to win a substantial amount on the lottery though if I wanted to :-)))

Sieht so aus, als ob das nichts wird, da zu wohnen ... aber schön wäre es bestimmt.

Very charming village. Being all the way down south i guess the climate is quite pleasant as well!

Glad you go to see this one Stephan.

Glad you like the place.........it's one of my favourites for photography and the nearby pub. Normally the climate is quite pleasant.........but even the sea breezes cannot overcome the hot weather we have at the moment. I believe that some parts of Europe are suffering even worse.

How beautiful Keith. So typically English, and beautifully photographed. When I look at the map, Langstone Harbour seems quite big. Is it far from where my Godmother lives in Warren Road, Milton? Like most beautiful places, the properties are well out of reach to most of us!

Thank you Rosa.........you'll find a map of the route around the harbour boundary in the link. You'll see that Milton is on the left hand side as you look at it, so your godmother's place can't be that far away.

Thank you Keith. I didn't know it covered such a large area. We are visiting her hopefully in October, so will try to visit it. Cheers.

It's shots like this that can sometimes make me feel just a tad homesick. Especially when you mention a decent pub nearby!
A lovely shot, Keith!

Thank you Andy.............I don't want to make you feel even more homesick, but there are actually two pubs in the village :-)

A wonderfully atmospheric image beautifully captured Keith, what a great place to live.

Water levels rising must be of concern as these houses have little room for an exceptionally high tide, and I guess insurance must be an issue,

Glad you like the shot Roger............thanks very much.

Actually this village flood several times a year, but all the houses have been pretty much flood proofed over the years. I've been down there during floods and no one seems particularly bothered about it. The local pub rarely closes - you just have to wear wellies inside :-)

It does looks gorgeous indeed and I can understand that properties would be expensive. Not sure about the future though, what about sea level rise?
Keith Burton club has replied to Gudrun club
See my reply to Roger above. Whether the same situation will exist in years to come - who knows - I would image the whole village would be underwater eventually, along with many other places on coasts all around the world.

There is a lot of work going on to repair and improve sea defences in the south at the moment. I don't know whether this particular area will be included in the future.

Ein hübscher gewachsener Ort, wo jedes Haus anders aussieht. Ich mag diese alten charaktervollen Häuser.
Schöner Bildschnitt, Keith!
