Sycamore Tree Seed Heads

Sycamore Tree Seed Heads
These seed heads caught my eye because of the lovely light on them.

I have a large sycamore tree in my garden but the seeds heads are not this developed. This was taken in the Hilsea Lines, Portsmouth.

Gudrun, Jörg, trester88, Berny and 21 other people have particularly liked this photo

Thank you Jan.........glad you love it. I haven't put it in the challenges group as I don't think it quite qualifies as a macro shot :-)

We spend a lot of time pulling up baby sycamore trees :-)))

Thank you so much Güni..............I always try and keep my eyes open for the inconspicuous stuff and sometimes ( like this), I get lucky!

Glad you like it.

They look like they will soon be taking flight Keith! Beautifully captured against that lovely green background. The first property we ever owned was called Sycamore with a large tree of that variety in the front garden!

My garden has had a good soak overnight and is looking much greener :-)

It won't be long...........just need a bit of a cold snap and some decent wind. Glad you like this one Rosa.

It's rained a lot over the past couple of days here as well. It's amazing how quickly my lawn is recovering - it will need cutting soon!

Nothing to indicate Autumn is approaching like Sycamore seed spinning down, a fabulous capture in the most beautiful light and the bokeh is perfect Keith,
After the storms we are having, it feels like it's already with us

Beautiful photo of the seeds, Keith. I have heard it said that Americans and British are two peoples separated by a common language. I would call these maple seeds whereas sycamores are in the genus Platanus.

Ha, ha, well observed Ronald. I believe the Sycamore is a member of the maple family!

Glad you like the photo!

Thank you.

The sycamore tree in my garden is over 60ft tall...........and I know exactly what you're talking about............I expect my neighbours hate me for it :-)))
