Heard on the news you have high temperatures… unusual for the UK. Before air conditioning era we used to apply wet towels on the arms and forehead and this method provided a lot of relief, but in my South we are used to temp over 40°C from April to September…

Thanks Isabel. Yes the temperatures have been very high compared to what we're used to. I can't imagine living in the sort of heat you get in the summer,..........but with global warming, we might just have to get used to it.

No air conditioning here, but the practiced action of windows and blinds being opened and closed at the correct times does help a bit. Nonetheless I've been typing at my laptop these past few weeks late at night with a wet towel draped over my shoulders!

We don't have air-con, but we use fans and try and keep the windows open and curtains closed. I also try to use the computer early in the morning and late in the evening if I can., Thanks Andy :-)))

I'm pleased to have amused you Tanja...............this large, distorting mirror is in a museum in Portsmouth near where I live. I couldn't resist a selfie.
