Parched

Parched
Some of the the dried out grasses and other plants on the footpath above the beach on Hayling Island. Taken the day before yesterday on the hottest day of the week.

Another image in the PiP if you have the time and inclination to have a look :-)

We had some heavy rain today, but nowhere near enough to make a difference - it has cooled things down though, which is good.

I had the inclination Keith and both shots captured very well :-)) A common sight unfortunately. We had a good shower of rain yesterday and the grass is shooting green again already.

Much appreciated Rosa...........glad you like the photos.

We've had some rain again today........although it was quite heavy it didn't last long. Nice and cool today though, which is bliss.

Nice summer colours, I love the grasses and the brown thistle, A scene like most of the country but not for us any more we had around 4 hours of torrential rain yesterday afternoon and evening. Super artist capture, though.

From a photographic point of view the gold-brown tones look beautiful. You caught all the different shapes and textures really well. But the heat and drought are very worrying indeed....

Thank you for your kind comments Gudrun..............we had some rain today, but not very much and certainly not enough to make any difference. It did cool things down a bit though, which is bliss!

Maybe a bit greener after the rains of last night and today. I believe there have been floods in London. Sill quite dry here.

Cheers. Herb

I was going to pass on this one ... then had another look and quickly changed my mind. You saw the potential of the different dried grasses and other plants in the breeze and the effect is superb. Well seen, Keith!

Yes, it's been pretty bad here as well, nearly everything in my garden is dead or dying. We've had some cooler weather lately and a little bit of rain, but it's too little, too late.

A lot of areas in England have been declared as being in a drought, our reservoirs are running low. We're just not used to this sort of weather, but I suppose we'll have to get used to it in the future :(
