Golden Fields

Another view across the countryside near Chalton in Hampshire, part of the South Downs National Park. Looking in the opposite direction from yesterdays photo.

If you view large you can see that there is a huge nest box (probably for an owl) in the dead tree just below the horizon on the right. I've no idea If there is anything in it though :-)

Rosalyn Hilborne

Before I read your notes, I wondered if it was an owl nest box. It's a super shot viewed large...and then larger!! I love the way the old tree trunk stands out in this beautiful and very English scene.

Have a great new week Keith. I'm off to Lulworth again on Wednesday, so hoping it doesn't rain, but that would be better than the recent high temperatures!!

Enjoy Lulworth...........I'll keep my fingers crossed for decent weather for you. We're off on Thursday for just one day in Saltash, Cornwall so Jackie can pay a flying visit to her sister then off to spend the Bank Holiday weekend in Exmouth with Cara and the grandchildren.

I'm pretty sure the nest box is for an owl, but I don't visit this area enough to have seen anything using it.
