Old Winchester Hill, Hampshire.

Old Winchester Hill, Hampshire.
On top of the ridge there is the remains of an Iron Age hill fort. From this viewpoint anyone approaching could be easily seen. The ramparts rear upwards for the best defence. The fort is surrounded by a bank and a ditch.

The remains are very clear Keith. I like to walk places like this. We have one nearby called Cadbury Hillfort. Very well captured and another great sky!

Es ist erstaunlich, dass der Wall nach mehr als 2000 Jahren noch erkennbar ist. Bei uns im Wiehengebirge gibt es die eisenzeitliche Wallanlage Wittekindsburg, die zum Teil noch erkennbar ist.
Ich mag den Blick auf den Hügel und die schönen Grüntöne!
