Lovely sunset shot, Carol!
Bunham reminds of a drive I made from London to Burnham to see a client, before the days of mobiles or Satnav. I looked at a map at a garage outside the town to find the location but couldn't find the street name. I had a phone number for the client and found a phonebox but there was no reply. I had no option but to return to the office in London.
When I got back to the office there was a mesage for me from the client asking where I was.
He was in Burnham-On-Crouch in Essex!!!!
He actually became a very good client but it could have gone very wrong!

My geography is awful sadly, and I have to say I have passed that particular 'talent' to my children. I remember coming home one evening to find my husband had been called out to work at Woolavington, just down the road. My daughter dutifully passed on the message that he had gone to work in Wolverhampton, - way up country as you will know!!!

Well, my sense of geography is OK and as I love maps, I preferred not to use Satnav at all! Actually my girlfriend has no sense of direction or of place and relies 100% on Satnav and as I no longer drive, the whole point is academic!
I don't drive because of Brexit, and my European driving licence no longer being valid, I would have to apply for both Spanish and British driving licences which would have happened during my spell of Long Covid which also included impaired eye sight. I would therefore have been ineligible for a licence in either country on health grounds. GRRRR!
All very frustrating!

I can see how frustrating it must be for you Andy. On the bright side just try to enjoy being chauffered around by your girlfriend, - you get to enjoy the views that you don't have time to look at when you are driving. Take care

Well, we'll see! My girlfriend lives on the other side of Madrid and due to Covid we haven't seen as much of each other as we might have wished. BUT, my sister's family (with whom I have lived these past 18 months) are travelling to England to stay with our parents and my girlfriend will come and stay with me for a week or two (I obviously still need mollycoddling due to various aspects of Long Covid!). So I shall look forward to that and to her driving me into the countryside occasionally, which will be my first time out of the city for getting on for a couple of years!

Enjoy your time together and maybe next time your family come back to England you will be well enough to come with them. I am sure that your sister and her family will bring back all the news so you won't feel like you have missed out totally.
