A Seat at the Castle

A different view of Dunure Castle, Ayshire showing it's beautiful location on the coast. Below here and out of sight are the remains of a maze. The castle dates back to the 1200s and was then the main fortress of the Kennedy Family, Lords of Carrick and Earls of Cassilis.

On the bench a floral posy had been left and this is just visible if you enlarge the image. I have no idea why it was there, but If this was to mark someone's favouite place I can fully understand it.

Nice to see this new bench here overlooking the castle. Obviously a favourite spot for many. A place I too have visited, and I have just found my photo of that. I do have a nice picture of Greenan Castle as well, just 4miles north of this at Ayr, which I may post this week now you have reminded me of it. Cheers

I enjoyed Outlander and the link with the castle because it was used in some of the scenes appealed to me, but I loved the view of the coastline and castle from here especially. Nice that you enjoyed seeing it for yourself and look forward to your Greenan Castle pic.
