A well deserved rest
The horses had come all the way from the south over the feared Sprengisandur highland crossing. They get a well deserved one week's rest before making the return journey.

Islandpferde - wie schön!
Ich mag diese Rasse besonders gerne, bin als Jugendliche auf einem Bauernhof, auf dem auch Islandpferde gehalten wurden, geritten. Auf unserer Hurtigruten-Tour in Norwegen habe ich den Ausflug "Lofoten per Pferd", auch auf einem Islandpferd, mitgemacht. Obwohl es nach ca. 38 Jahren sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig war, auf einem Pferd zu sitzen, war es wunderschön!

Herzlichen Dank, Wiebke! Ich war nie ein Pferdenarr, aber die Islandpferde haben einfach was! Der Lofotenausflug war sicher klasse, die Westküstenstrände sind ja besonders schön...
