Seyðishólar

Seyðishólar are part of Grimsnes volcanic system which is only 5000-6000 years old and Iceland's youngest ( the better known crater Kerið is also part of Grimsnes).
Seyðishólar have long been used as a quarry, the red colour is a sign of high iron content. In the heavy rain the colour of the stones was even more intense.

Großen Dank, Tanja! Ich fand die Szenerie auch total surreal mit dem grünen Monster! Ich habe so etliche Steinchen eingesammelt- ist ja ein Steinbruch, kein Nationalpark, da darf man das;-)

Besten Dank, Udo! Bei dem vielen Regen hätte man Rostflecken ansetzen können, aber die Heizungen in den Hotels haben die nassen Sachen schnell trocken bekommen;-)
