Just Another Day Wasted Away (Waiting For You)

In May, 1927 Golden Gate Dance Orchestra with singer Ted Wallace were first to release “Just Another Day Wasted” (Roy Turk – Charles Tobias). Personnel variations and contractual obligations had the band using other names including The California Ramblers, McAlpineers, Broadway Melody Makers and personal favourite The Tennessee Tooters. The post has been edited to include the vocal.

Waring’s Pennsylvanians reached number three in 1927 with this version of “Just Another Day Wasted Away (Waiting For You)” with Tom Waring the singer. The orchestra was formed in 1918 at Penn State University by brothers Fred and Tom Waring. In 1983 Fred was awarded the nation’s highest honor for a civilian when he received the Congressional Gold Medal.
