Lady Marmalade UPDATE
UPDATE Kenny Nolan and a group of studio musicians named The Eleventh Hour were the first to record "Lady Marmalade" (Bob Crewe, Kenny Nolan) in 1974. The track didn’t chart. The single was introduced on the album “The Eleventh Hour’s Greatest Hits”.
Patti Labelle says she had no idea what was meant in some of the lyrics to the Labelle (lead vocalist Patti Labelle, Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx) hit "Lady Marmalade" (Bob Crewe - Kenny Nolan). The French "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir" translates to "do you want to sleep with me tonight". The single topped the Billboard and Canadian charts in 1974.
Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim (Jones), Mya (Harrison) and Pink (Alicia Moore) teamed for the Missy Elliott production of "Lady Marmalade" (Bob Crewe - Melissa Elliott - Kimberly Jones - Kenny Nolan). used in the 2001 film "Moulin Rouge". The single topped the Billboard listing for weeks.
