1,2 Step

The “Queen of Rap”, “Queen of Hip Hop”, “First Lady of Hip Hop” Missy (Melissa) Elliott sings the rap demo for “1, 2 Step” (Ciara – Phalon Alexander - Missy Elliott). In the summer of 2019 Missy Elliott became the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She has also won four Grammys and many other awards of recognition including an honorary Doctor of Music from Berkley College of Music.

Singer, songwriter, dancer and actress Ciara (Harris) featured Miss Elliott on the hit version of “1, 2 Step” from Ciara’s 2004 top ten debut album “Goodies”. Ciara started working on the album after she graduated from high school in Georgia. The single peaked at number two on Billboard while reaching the top ten in Australia, Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom.
