Olive tree, Paeque de Bravo Murillo, Madrid

I used to live near here and it seemed then that it took the local authorities at least 10 years to turn this narrow strip of land between Calle Bravo Murillo and the water works grounds of Canal Isabel II into a pleasant park. But I had reason to go past here yesterday and found that it had at long last opened.

Thanks Keith ... but I moved from here 18 months ago. I only passed this way yesterday as it was on the way between metro station and a clinic for an appointment! So I may never pass this way ever again! But who can predict the furure!

Wow, how lovely to have this olive tree allowed to be grown in parkland. Apart from the shade it offers, some people could enjoy its fruit. Not me though - I'm not a fan of olives.

Thank you, Peggy! Shot taken on one of my rare excursions into Madrid centre (usually for medical check-ups and so on). I also need to keep my walking / paces up and I sometimes go back to my old haunts such as this out of pure nostalgia!
