They have here too, Peter. These were growing in 2015 and I have seen very few since. The farm was bought by a more 'progressive' farmer to whom poppies are poison!

I first saw fields of poppies in the South of France way back in the early seventies, so I was pleased to see them near my sister's old flat in Algete (she still lives in Algete but in a larger house nearer where the poppy fields once were). Sadly the poppy fields haven't existed since they were got rid of by the farmer in 2015.

I took several dozen shots on a number of walks in May 2014 and 15 and although they were all posted on Pano, I'm not sure that all of them have seen the light of day here, so I'm in danger of a degree of duplication moving forward!

Just got back from the shops, an hour of walking there and back and uphill a lot of the way. I'm not the quickest of walkers at the moment but I'm getting there!

I like poppies Fred but I can't go walking in the country like I used to (and as you can't either, I know). So I will sometimes use old photos. I once took many shots like this so I am never sure if I have posted this on ipernity before or not. Certainly I posted it on Pano!

The fact is that I took many similar shots back in 2014 and 2015 so that I cannot now tell which were posted before on ipernity. They would all have been posted on Panoramio. So I reckon it's about a 50 / 50 chance that this exact shot has been posted here before!
They would be at there peak about now and I hope to go for a walk to hunt another such field but the local farmers have been very anti-poppy these past few years!

Thank you, Misou! The fields around here used to be like this at this time of year but the local farmers took steps to eradicate the poppies a few years ago! So by posting this, I am celebrating the memory of poppy fields in years past!
