At least with a view like that, you can work out how soon it would be before the rain comes. It's a fantastic view that you have there. I need to see the sea or body of water, but this view would be a close second.

I felt the same for the first few years of living in Madrid, Jenny. I would walk in the mountains near here and round a corner of very granite like structures, just as in Cornwall, and expect to see the sea! As I live in just about the furthest point away from the sea it's possible to be in Spain, I've had to get used to it!

A phrase that's new to me, Peter!
Yes it does happen but not so much as in Blighty. People tend to live on top of each other in appartment blocks (The Spanish are a very sociable lot and seem to prefer it that way!) which leads to less suburban sprawl. This view is only about 20 miles from Madrid. It would be difficult to find so little sprawl that close to London, for example!
