There were the best apricots I have ever tasted! I had some the first year the tree was planted but not the next year (last year) as I spent the whole of early summer in an induced coma due to Covid!

Well, these are about as good as the apricots I inherited in a garden in Harrow in the mid 80s. At first I thought they were nectarines but the former owner of the flat confirmed they were a specil variety of apricot.
Thank you, Keith!

My late brother in-law and his wife lived in Benimagrell,S.Juan, Alicante. Always remember the lovely fruit and olive trees in their various gardens. A favorite memory was the year we helped havest the olives! Would like to vist my sister in-law there again but I doubt that is going to happen.

Well, I have my brother-in-law to thank. He planted these fruit trees: apricots, figs, mulberries, apples, plums, pears ... as well as a host of veg. - the ones commonly grown here; red and green peppers, 3 types of onion (basic, sweet and red), garlic, cucumbers, lettuces, leeks, aubergines, courgettes, radishes, carrots, cellery, loads of different tomato types, etc etc.
We are never at a loss for salad or other veg during the summer and autumn!

My tree in England produced very good fruit but on average only one year in three. I reckoned on one excellent year, one so-so year with few fruit and one non.starter (mainly due to late frosts), in three!

Not really down to him, it was luck with this tree I reckon, Nick!l
The tree is only three years old but has been so over-burdened with fruit right from year one that the branches need shoring up due to the weight of the crop!

My brother-in-law comes from the valley of the Jerte in Estramadura, a place famous for cherries. Unfortunately they are forbidden me due to diabetes (other fruit I can't eat are, papaya, mango, pineapple, figs and bananas).

Nothing better than growing your own fruits and vegetables if you can. At least in the US, store-bought ones almost never taste as I remember when I was a child.
