Pansy escapee. Self-seeded and apparently perfectly happy here!

This hardy survivor found a minuscule crack to etablish itself in on the driveway and has happily survived for several weeks. For some reason I have become quite fond of it and always say hello when I pass it on my daily constitutional!
I asked my sister to take this as I can't yet bend down so low!

Andy Rodker club has replied to tiabunna clubI often see sturdy oaks growing out of the most improbable rocky terrain on my walks in the mountains of Madrid (which I hope to resume later this year!).
Bonne semaine. Amitiés
Gabi,
Rosa,
Pierre,
Glad this little pansy gives you as much pleasure as it does me!
Very many thanks.
My grandmother used to have a lot of pansies in her garden and I loved them. I always thought they looked as if they had little faces and the colours were gorgeous.
Your sister has captured this lone pansy well
Take care Carol
Volker,
Carol,
Very many thanks!
Yes, it is a survivor, perhaps helped by the fact that no cars use the driveway at the moment but park elsewhere! Lucky pansy, I say!
A lovely photo!

Great comments; thank you all!
I don't hold a full-on conversation with it à la Prince Charles; a friendly 'hello' suffices!
Re: good conditions; I suspect the soil under the paving stays moist for longer!
As I mentioned above, it's a lucky little flower as the driveway is only used by me on my daily constitutional of the grounds; cars are parked elsewhere these days!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Karl Hartwig Schütz clubI've just come back from my daily walk round the grounds and so it will have to wait until tomorrow! But I'm sure little pansy will be very happy to reciprocate!
The frugality of nature is fascinating, and also its ability to create and use the smallest habitats. There are so many plants, including flowering ones, that thrive in such an environment.

In fact I'm looking at her outide the office window as I type this and she looks perfectly happy in the morning sun!

Oui Andy c'est bien de l'avoir photographié(par ta soeur) et c'est bien de lui parler,
en plus elle fait tout pour montrer sa beauté
Andy Rodker club has replied to ROL/Photo clubI tried hard to get a worthwhile shot but as the driveway is on a slope I couldn't a) bend down far enough and b) keep my balance - so I enlisted the help of my sister and we have jointly adopted this hardy little flower!
