the Covid19 bucket

the Covid19 bucket
My grandma lived on the third floor of an old building and used one of these to retrieve mail and other stuff without risking the treacherous stairs. We repurposed this time tried technique and have been using it to minimize close contact, in order to protect both ourselves and all the people out there who have continued to provide essential services, like postal workers and civil protection volunteers delivering our weekly allotment of masks, from the risk of contagion.
The light streaming in from the window and the colorfulness got me to go for my camera and I thought the result was interesting enough to share.

Thank you, Polytropos. It was filled ... with light! That's what got me to go get my camera. It looked like the light from the window was poured into the bucket, lighting it up.

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Grazie, Gabi. Un tempo era facile vederli in uso nei vecchi borghi dove le case avevano scale strette e faticose. La mia nonna viveva in una casa così e il suo di secchio era uno di quelli di metallo che un tempo si usavano per mungere :))

Buon resto di domenica!

Thank you, George. Actually we are among the lucky ones. Our home faces the street and has two floors (and we use the upstairs rooms the most), but we also have a backyard, actually a decent sized one for being in a city. It has been my salvation in this confinement, providing room for exercise and photo ops and allowing me to enjoy the antics of a blackbird family who nested nearby.
Now we are allowed to go for individual walks and bike rides, so even those confined in apartments now can get some exercise and sunlight. They must have been at their wits' ends these past two months ... I really really hope the numbers will stay low and that we won't have to go back to full strength confinement by the end the month.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you had a nice weekend.
