Thanks very much for your kind thoughts, Amelia. Yes, most people wouldn't be looking forward to resuming chemo treatment, but it does indeed represent progress and Pauline is very pleased indeed that it's resuming.

Thank you, Carol. The second PIP is one of my favourites too (although I am even more partial to the first PIP, perhaps because it required stepping out of my comfort zone in the choice of point of view and I was pleased with the result of the experimentation).

Thank you, Gudrun. Yes, that was the idea. I shot the main image on my first walk outside after nearly two months of strict confinement and the light beyond the gate got me to look through my archives for similar images that would convey the same feeling.

Hi, David. I keep an eye on the epidemic's numbers in the UK and feel for you guys, as you seem to be getting it as hard as we did in Italy. Strict confinement was tough (we had nearly two months of total lockdown without as much as the chance to take a walk outside), but it worked for us. I hope the UK too will start seeing a decrease in new cases and fatalities soon.
I took the shot in the main image on the very first day I was able to leave the house for a simple walk around the neighbourhood. After two months at home, it felt like a luxury!

Thank you, Isabel. The first Pip is my favorite too. I was not sure if anything worthwhile would come out of it when I took it, but I was actually very pleased with the result of my "contortions" to fit both the backlit leaves and the fence in the frame ;)

Thank you, HappySnapper. There seems to be two "factions": some are in favor of the first PiP and some, like yourself, prefer the second. Which is nice, since they are the two shots I prefer myself. I chose the main image not because I thought it was the best, but because I shot it on the very first walk I took after the "release" from strict lockdown and it was this shot that got me looking through my archives for similar ones to put in a series.
