the takeover

the takeover
Left in peace for two months during the lockdown, the wild grasses took over and park lawns now look just like Nature intended! It won't last long, city gardeners will soon be showing up with their lawnmowers, so I made sure to have a picture of "the time Nature took back over" :)

Qué pases un buen Domingo!

This is excellent - the way that you captured the light on the heads of the grass - it appears to move.
When I was a kid at school we used to pick these and throw them at each other like darts and they would stick to our clothes :)

Thank you, Simon. They were indeed moving in the breeze. I am glad that the impression of movement carried over in the photo; thank you for letting me know.
It seems that both you and José (just above here) remember using the pointy seeds in childhood battles. I don't, but that may have something to do with the fact that back then boys and girls played very different games. I still enjoyed knowing about you guys' memories connected to these sprigs, though.
Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Thank you, Jaap. I wanted the sea of rustling grasses to have center stage ;)

Thank you, Percy. It does not take long for Nature to reclaim the land, even in a city!

Beautifully taken with all those seed heads on the grass and an excellent low p.o.v. for this image, Annalia.
