Thank you, Malik. Except for sports competitions, Italians tend to have a stronger sense of belonging for the region (or city) they hail from than for the nation and what patriotic feelings we do have tend to be a bit irreverent, as you can see :))
The COVID pandemic, however, did bring out a sense of unity and there have been more flags displayed during this trying time than ever before.
