Thank you, Diana! Yes, I refuse to let confinement bog me down overmuch. Seeing the numbers in the "critically ill" and "deceased" column finally begin to get lower is helping our spirits, I think. Still, I know it'll be a while before they can relax the restrictions.

Sorry I am so very late replying, George, and you are not the only one that found this puzzle too abstruse ... I guess living all these years with a judoka got me thinking of judo as just another part of life :D
Of course, I have my bad moments too, in this nightmare we have somehow landed ourselves in. There are times when the horror of so many people dying, without even as much as the comfort of being able to hold the hand of a loved one, leaves me hollow inside. But, this situation will not go away in a few days and I think it's essential that we try to keep our spirits up. I guess I need to come up with a better puzzle next time, though ... :)
