A belated HFF everyone! I MUST BE BATS!!

Why bats? Because I was attempting to capture at least one clear shot of the pipistrelle bats that come out to feeds at dusk! They simply move much too fast! Oh well, there is one fairly obvious bat here and maybe two.
These bats roost in next door's eaves and are accepted happily for one very important reason and that is they help to keep the mosquito population way down and for that I am extremely grateful!
The bat is easier to see on large!

Ah yes, bats... They not only move too fast but they fly lots of zigzags;-) We have quite a few bats in town, they live in the church tower and about this time of the year the young sometimes don't find their way back home but end up in people's homes. When you have a whole swarm of them buzzing round you have to call the fire brigade;-)

HFF!
I occasionally see the odd bat near my house, but I have no idea where they come from or go to.
Anyway..........even without the bats (except for the one you pointed out to Marije) this is a splendid image. I love the light and the colours in the sky. Beautifully captured.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton clubRe; photographing bats in flight - as you say and as I discovered - nigh on impossible! Anyway I'm always pleased too see them as I do a few laps of the terraces and front and back garden at that time of day to complete my day's steps target.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Eric Desjours clubAndy Rodker club has replied to "seise"The view from your house to the valley and at least to the mountains is so wonderful, Andy!
Yes, I had to move here from my flat as
1. teaching work dried up with Covid, and I could no longer pay my central Madrid rent..
2. I suddenly couldn't walk as my spine started to disentegrate from many years of steroid treatment for my leukaemia and I could no longer walk to classes, the bus stop, the metro station, etc. I had a serious back operation which is still needing physiotherapy to put right completely.
3. Luckily, my sister has a large house 40km north of Madrid with plenty of space!
My girlfriend has a full flat with lodgers and a 'no boyriend staying at night' rule, which is necessary, so I only had the one option.
4.Then, I got Covid in a big way last year and spent 5 months in hospital (2 of them in an induced coma which wasted my leg muscles completely away)! I have only now learned how to walk again and speak again (it also affected my vocal cords!). So I am receiving long term invalidity benefit, partly from the UK and partly from Spain.
Apart from that, all is well (although my sister currently has Covid and I really don't want it again as I have no immune system to speak of and was told that it could be equally serious if I catch it again! So I'm self-isolating even more so than usual!)
But yes the view is lovely, and I have already posted more than a few on ipernity in recent months!
Hope all s well with you!
Best wishes,
Andy
