I got used to it yonks ago, Peter - ever since I spent every summer in the south of France as a teenager. But what I find intolerable is high humidity with these temps!
Fortunately for me, that's rare here and a DRY 40ºC is bearable, whereas a humid 35ºC is not!
Anyway, it's near the end of summer. Comfortable sleep might soon become more than just a dream!

Yes. Definately crazy, Ronald ... But I reasoned that 40 mins each way to the shops, and a stop at a favourite deli / wine shop / café to refresh the essentials and to go to the loo (prostate issues), and it's not so much of a problem and it adds many 1,000s of paces to my daily target.

The heat does come across well Andy and after the recent temperatures here, I am not at all envious....might be a different case in the middle of winter though ;-))

We get far colder winters than you get Rosa! At least on average. We are on a high plateau and next to a mountain range. Not conducive to mild winters!!!
So I suppose it evens out in the end!

I no longer drive, Armando. Health issues at the wrong time meant I couldn't get a Spanish (and a separate British) replacement driving icence for my no longer valid EU driving licence, before the expiry date earlier this year.
So now I have to wait until my health improves (including my sight) and then pay for a new driving test in Spain and also at some point in England. My parents live in an isolated rural village in Cornwall and to visit them I need to drive there. They are getting old. I haven't visited them in 4 years. Again heath and the general covid situation are the reasons.
Yet another bastard effect that Brexit is having on me. And I used to love driving!

You are too young to live under such a limitation; hope you recover your driving license sooner, Andy!

I'm English, I still feel instinctively that if the sun is shining, I need to get out and improve on my tan!! I never quite got the hang of being cooped up in an airless home on a lovely day. The Spanish (and my sister and girlfriend) think i'm bonkers - and I suspect they're right. BUT I don't overdo it, so that's alright!
