The 'road' is actually a disused railway line. It was functioning in 2010 when I first walked in these mountains and I thought it would be a good idea to use it so the following year I went to book a return ticket from Madrid only to be told the line was out of service. Today it is a walking route with an interesting 5 km tunnel stretch under the mountains which I did with Walking Madrid a few years ago!
(And somewhere here I have some shots from inside the mountain range!)

That being the case it will be fairly flat for walking - heat not withstanding;-))

True but there is a gradual gradient as there has to be in the mountains!

Yes, everyone agrees except the Spanish contingency who don't understand the picnic concept. It has to be a restaurant lunch if they go to the mountains / countryside for a walk, or they simply won't go!!
So I nearly always have the whole place to myself!!

There was a time, approx 10 -11 years ago when I would come walking here twice a week (I had a car at that time and had no classes after 9 am on Fridays. So I drove home, changed quickly and drove here for a longish walk. Then I would do a longer walk here on Sundays!). I got very fit!

Yes, it's snow. Every year it's different. Some years no now in winter at all. Other years tons of the stuff that can linger until well into June!

Here the rock looks even more striking to me than in the photo from 2012.
In addition, the colors of the algae, mosses, or lichens on the stones around are a beautiful frame. The crisp sharpness is equally remarkable.
