Have a nice Sunday, Andy. A very pretty surprise - and a very nice shot really!

I was doing my daily walk (physiotherapist's daily target 10,000 paces but I set myself higher goals than that and today I beat my post covid record and posted 36,500 paces) and saw that this little bush had really got going but didn't take an updated photo because it started hailing and a mini tornado started up and swept away all the garden chairs, table and parasol,and a few other outside things, jardinières, etc and took them into the next parish!

If I understand correctly, this oleander is a survivor!
I'm joking but this storm was a real cataclysm, I see, moreover with hail which has already destroyed many crops this summer, especially in France.....

All OK in the end, we recovered the chairs and Parasol and the glass table, amazingly, wasn't broken. The plants and vegetables are tougher than we sometimes give them credit for and we didin't suffer as badly as some other places not too far from us!

What beautiful flowers............and more to come looking at all those buds. Very nicely captured Andy.

From what I can see of it, the lower terrace looks like a nice place to sit!

Thank you, Keith! It's fine but the upper terrace and the even higher balconies are nicer as they tend to catch whatever breeze wafts in!

What a beautiful flower Andy. It looks to be bathed in sunlight there. I did read your comments to Eric about the hailstorm and mini tornado. Pleased everything is ok. Weather conditions are crazy at the moment though, aren't they, with extreme heat, flash storms and floods? Hosepipe bans have started in one part of the country - when was the last time that happened?

Well,obviously the summer of 1976, Carol!.
I had a weekend and holiday job doing bits and bobs in neightburs' gardens in my last year at school and in this summer I was asked to collect all the saved bathwater and washing up water from inside and pour it on the most prized garden secimens, including at least a bucket per tree! I don't think I lost anything major but it was a long time ago! I think there have been hosepipe bans since then but possibly they were more localised than in the 1976 drought!

They are beautiful plants. We have some in our garden on the south coast of England. The hotter weather we have had this summer has made them flower extremely well. They complement very nicely the lavender that surrounds them.

An amazing plant strong and so wonderful! This Summer on my terrace there is no more, all plants are totally dry. And that makes me so sad!!! l had them for so long!

Sorry your terrace plants have succumbed to the summer heat but it happens. Possibly time to have a re-think on plants that can withstand increased summer temperatures and drought. Not that I have any specific solutions, I'm afraid!
