Pride and joy gates.

Sometimes, I have to try to break the habit of landscape fences for something more urban. I saw this old, almost vintage car not far from my home some time ago now. At one time somebodies pride and joy, now forlorn behind these old gates.

This Fifty Six year Humber Imperial was the top of the range Humber. It was based on the Super Snipe series of cars and was built at the Rootes factory at Ryton-on-Dunsmore near Coventry

It is also interesting to figure out the story behind it, and if it is still there.
It doesn't look like it has been there too many years... And those gates won't stop any thief..

What a delightful find Herb. A lovely shot. It looks as if neither the car nor the gates have moved in a very long time. Thanks Herb. That is quite sad and touching that the owner can't bear to part with it but can't afford to restore it. It is human nature I guess - I am sure there are a lot of us who keep things we are sentimentally attached to that don't work or serve no real purpose other than the memories they hold.
