The Glenfinnan Viaduct

The Glenfinnan Viaduct
A view of this famous viaduct in misty wet weather. Quite different from my previous trip here. The piece of high land that I am standing on here is quite often packed with photographers in the Summer months when ' The Highlands West Coast special' steam train is running over this.

A top misty shot there Herb' and I would think typical of the region..and interesting to be able to instantly dodge over to your 'September 6, 2016' capture and compare the two .. the small tree - on the mound - top left - has survived ok. // Cheers'.. and keep well from..> Dj.

Instantly recognisable for many Harry Potter fans I would imagine!

Such a monumental structure and yet it fits perfectly into the landscape, especially in this misty weather. The diffused light is perfect for this image and viewed large there's still a surprising amount of detail visible. Great job Herb.

As you know, I love a misty picture Herb, and also love a good viaduct! You have captured both here...I also like the PiP though ;-)) I still miss a viaduct that was demolished about 30 years ago, but a small section of it remains in Kilver Court Garden in Shepton Mallet, so I visit occasionally.
