I've seen these drop shafts in reservoirs and they are completely unprotected once one is in the water. This is a sensible precaution. Lovely light in the sky, and as always, beautiful scenery from your area.

Hi Amelia. This is very close to the dam corner and so it might be possible to climb onto parts of this without getting too wet. I got closer once and the drop was dizzying. Glad you liked it.

I have a lot from this one Xata as it is only a 15 minute drive away. (when the roads are empty -which is not often!) . HFF, enjoy your weekend.

A wonderful shot Herb...............overflowing with beautiful light - both in the pastel sky and where it's reflected on the water. The surrounding scenery is just gorgeous.

I have to say they seem to have done a good job with the fence and it actually looks quite lovely!

Wonderful light and a fascinating image to appreciate. I enjoyed reading about this fence as I've never seen one before. Amazing how dramatic the water level can be if there's drought, but even a normal year can be a drastic difference depending on the place. Thanks for sharing, it's a memorable shot!

For this Ipernity group of HFF, I am extremely fortunate in having so many different and copious fences at my disposal. This being but one example. Very happy that you liked and and found my description of use.
As for your 'presentations' -you speak and capture the scenes from your heart -that is clear. We will see what happens here to our country after the coming election. That park of yours looks incredible. At only 45 mins away, you can quickly go test and enjoy another home from home.

A lovely morning light capture Herb'... I do wonder why the Ladybower overflows don't have some form of fence or grid.. it sure makes things safer and collects debris.

Hi Dave, when I see our many reservoirs thay are almost all slightly different with their overflows. This being near the path must have been seen as being more accessible to folk hence the fence. As you say though, it collects debris as well.

No, not a good idea Joe. The inside of the cone is made up of quite big steps though, that looked as if they would be easy to step down in the height of the drought.
