Memories of Armação de Pêra
Postcards from Armação de Pêra in Portugal to brighten up our Winter voting day mood. Maybe they got lost in the post for over six years now :)
This main capture taken from just at the edge of the main beach, which was one of the most beautiful town beaches that I have the pleasure to walk on. Behind me are large rocks with small caves and tunnels. Closer to the high rise promenade is a collection of small colourful fishing boats with their attendent fishermen attending to the nets.

It was indeed Toz. I remember walking to the centre of town towards the boats near here and getting drenched by a big wave - I had to find some newspaper to put in my shoe, it was so saturated. Great colours, rocks and reflections as you can see. Doubt somehow that I will ever get back but you never know.

What beautiful memories on this beach.I remember there was high tide and when it was low tide you could find many things there, where you took the shot, shells, starfishes. What I don't remember are the ugly buildings back there. I have a serie of photos of the rocks, they are fantastic, I never found others like them , only in the same country, in Cabo San Vicente and Ponta da Piedade. I hope they did not ruin the places, as I saw them almost 30 yars ago.

I had almost forgotten about this place until you yourself reminded me Daniela. It was our first and last time there and so we knew it only with this big white hotels -but that did not detract from the seascapes and rocks here. We never really went into the town. As you say the rocks really were fantastic. I have more photos but will leave that now for another day. I don't know the other two places you mention here. - Sadly, most places are not made better by time!

The other two places are one on the South-West, the point of Portugal, and the other in the middle. Look at the map and search also in the web. You will see beautiful photos.

I love the low down perspective and the composition here Herb. The rocks in the sand make perfect foreground interest and the light and colours are really beautiful.

I like the white buildings too..........especially their reflections in the water and wet sand.

The long perspective with the stones and rocks in the sand leads the view directly to the reflexes of the white houses in the rest of the water. I like also so much the pip
