Thanks a lot Toz. Great that you know this same tree well now too. I seem to have taken this tree from every angle and range since it was quite small in 1977. I had quite a lot on Panoramio maybe I shall put some of those on here too. Anyway - another misty shot here taken only yesterday when the mist was rolling off the hills. Very happy that you approve and liked it for a new star.

Hi Steve, I think you know this tree from your other side of the world nearly as much as me, as you have followed it since my entry into Panoramio in 2009. As you said no two views the same and it is now getting quite old. When I pass it, I often see flowers underneath depicting a memorial of someone else who loved that same spot too, maybe even having their ashes laid nearby? - Great that you have loved this too.

I love how the mist diffuses the light and mutes the colors, turning the landscape grey as if it were an ageing head of hair. Neira is right, it makes one think of silence and a somber poem.

A phenomenally atmospheric image Herb............I love the silvery light and the mist hanging in the air like gossamer! The lone tree is just wonderful. Definitely deserves to be viewed large!
