A Crowden Valley experience

A Crowden Valley experience
A last look at this big valley in Autumn towards Black Hill. As can be seen, it is quite big. The crags on the top edge are called Laddow Rocks. On a good day, and when I am in good form, this is an edge that I hike from my Dovestones Reservoir area. The Pennine Way also runs from the top there and traverses down the left side of these hills to a spot near where I am standing.

Its a great view from there. I go through phases of looking at some scenes in b/w but mono landscapes rarely seem to add anything. Perhaps its knowing the scene in colour makes me long to see range of colours

its a toss up which to write on B/w or colour. I love the autumn tones so I went for this shot. you can not ask for much better than this.

Thanks Steve. I think the colour version transmits the true scene here whilst the mono just someone's vision. A great place to explore and I regret that you are unlikely to do so.

Fantastic sunshine and gorgeous golden colours.............just wonderful. The dry stone wall is quite beautiful, especially viewed large, on black where even more detail becomes visible.

Nicely composed and taken Herb.

I'm not sure about the B/W image to be honest. I like the detail in the stones but not the mono tones in this case...........sorry mate!

Hi again Keith. Delighted that you like this main photo here. It was a little tricky getting this side of the wall lit though as it was well in shadow.
The mono -ah well my friend -we all have our personal preferences and this one, to be honest was just a bit of fun.
