Aye Toz, I remember now that you used to have a lot from those countries in your galleries. After posting many autumn and grey shots I thought I would remind myself of Summer again. I intend to slowly post samples from many holidays that are not here on Ipernity already. I see that you are delving into your past shots too.

The first PiP is amazing!

Three cracking images Herb. Isn't it wonderful to be able to look back on photos like these and forget, for a moment, the gloomy weather we're having at the moment?

The main image is beautifully composed. I really like the boat and jetty in the foreground which lead the eye to the buildings and then onward to those magnificent mountains. The tiny bit of foliage upper left balances out the clouds upper right. An excellent shot sir..!!

The first PiP is also well composed. I love that beautiful olive(?) tree and of course the fountain and it's good to have someone in shot for scale. A wonderful backdrop too.

The light in the second PiP does it for me............it's gorgeous and highlights the water and the rooftops beautifully.

Thanks so much for your considered opinions on these my friend. Yes, as time goes by, these photos bring it all back. (Fortunately we also have the video of this trip too). As you say, I wanted to get away from our gloomy weather for a moment. As said to Toz above - I intend to slowly post samples from many holidays that are not here on Ipernity already. As long that is, that my viewers like you show some feedback.
Glad you liked all three -each being a bit different. I remember on the third that I took this dropping down to the lake but I cannot remember exactly where it was on the lake. Dementia catching up??
The fountain reminded me of the big one at Geneva that I once saw but well before digital. You have recognised that I have always tried to compose things OK.

So nice. We have here a little train that goes to Locarno, but then I don't know how to go to Lugano.

Locarno is just the next lake North of here (just 22km as the crow flies). I suspect that there are buses and maybe trains but I never really know. Maybe you will get here one day too. Glad you liked there anyway.

Ah, I can the exact same buildings Poly. I have just realised that Locarno is on Lake Maggiore which I have also visited, and where we went on Isola Bella etc. Thanks for the link.
