It certainly is.....more a fog!

No just thick mist my friend. Fog is created by pollution of the air dropping down, this is mist rising from the lower valleys here. We don't really have any fog anymore after the 'clean air act', many years back . Glad you liked it -whatever... Herb

Winter mood!

Yes, winter is coming!

Wonderfully murky! You've captured this misty scene in great depth Herb (not an easy thing to do) and viewed large, there is an surprising amount of detail and muted colour. I like the composition, especially the reflections. You can almost feel the stillness!

Thanks Keith, you are right, all too often these captures come out 'dirty' -no real feeling of expression thus disappointment sets in and they get binned! On this day, we had mist from our house but unusually so, I could see and sense the sun trying to break through. So off to my first haunts but that proved disappointing, so a couple of miles further up into Saddleworth starting here at the canal and a favourite little lake before getting to the reservoirs and real countryside where on this day, heaven opened up for me. - Watch this space.
