A Burnsall view.
We have here the former Methodist church as seen from the River Wharfe bank at the pretty village of Burnsall in the Yorkshire Dales. Built in 1840 as a Weslyan Methodist church, it has closed as a place of worship and is now a nursery. For me though, it was the rather unusual spire that caught my eye in this wonderful light; generally most Methodist churches do not have one.

Gotcha'.. on spires Herb.. yes thinking back... our local Methodist had a wooden box with a spire fitted to it on the church roof.. altogether it was only about two cubic metres in size.
Nice photo'.. with your usual appealing lighting.

Hi Dave. Yes, we don't always appreciate the significance of these buildings until we start to find fact when posting into sites like Ipernity. I think many Methodist churches had spires because they took over former churches but like you, I can remember most with only small steeples or none at all. The light -well, as you know, that is king for me! Cheers, Herb

Excellent composition Herb...........I like the light on the church - subtle yet beautiful and just enough to bring out the detail. My eyes are also drawn to the beautiful autumn leaves on the trees. Very nice work Sir!

Its a small world Toz. Very happy that you enjoyed this very familiar view to you. I take it, that the church is still a nursery but no doubt a home too. - We have had a few meals at the Red Lion in the past -what a wonderful location.
