Wow! This brought back some memories.................I sailed into Cape Town aboard HMS Bulwark (the original, not the current one) way back in the early 70s. I remember seeing Table Mountain with a layer of cloud on top - it was wonderful. Unfortunately, in those days I did not own a camera and so have no record of it except in my head :-(

Hi Keith, very happy this brought back pleasant memories for you. The sight of this mountain backdrop on approach is jaw-dropping. In actual fact, as we were sailing in we also had a wonderful sunrise with sun-beams hitting the cities islands. We too were expecting cloud on the mountain (its table-cloth) but it remained clear all day. We travelled to the top via the cable car late in the afternoon and saw the sun setting whilst queued up for the return car. Nice that your head recorder is still in working order :)

We were blown away by this city Peter. We are fortunate in having visited lots of beautiful towns and cities around the world but sailing into Cape Town through the sunrise into a beautiful day is a life memory, My pleasure, as usual to share here.
