I noticed this Sycamore seed had lodged itself into the top of a rotting fence post in my garden. The lens I used is not strictly a macro lens, but it does have a macro setting which is pretty good for this sort of subject!

These seed heads caught my eye because of the lovely light on them. I have a large sycamore tree in my garden but the seeds heads are not this developed. This was taken in the Hilsea Lines, Portsmouth.

..........the leaves on this sycamore tree are turning brown. This will be my last post for a while. Off to Wales early tomorrow for a week of nothing but photography (and maybe a little alcohol), with some very good friends.
