I like blackberries too..........especially paired up with apples in a pie!

Nature a little early this year perhaps, but I guess they will take a while to ripen and then be enjoyed, cooked with a little custard or in a pie either, will do me.

There are a lot around near me Roger...............but yes, it will be a while before they're worth picking. Apple and blackberry pie or crumble for me!

It seems to me a good tribute to have the birds close. I only pick blackberries when I need to make jam and that, very rarely. All the best, Anton.

I expect the birds will get the berries, especially the ones on the higher branches, well before us humans get the chance!

I was astonished to see a bush full of ripe and just ripening blackberries on my recent walk. They were by tye side if the old road between Algete and Alalpardo. The only people I saw on this path were a kid on a scooter and a jogger. Obviously families no longer go for walks in the country or this very prominent and accessible bush would have been stripped bare. I made a mental note to return with a plastic bag but the weather has been agin me! I need to wait for two more consecutive days of sun and then go for it!

We've started to keep a container in the boot of the car in case we go anywhere where the berries are ripe enough to pick..........but it's a tad early yet. Always worth the effort though.

I couldn't agree more! My sister makes a mean apple and blackcurrant crumble and of course it has to be with vanilla ice cream! At least I presume she does, I can't have any of course, being diabetic! :o((

Always ice cream.......never custard..!! My wife is diabetic as well (Type 2) so she does indulge herself occasionally. I'm always ready to remove temptation by having a larger portion :-)))

Yes, I'm type 2 also and I am very careful. About once in a blue moon I self-indulge with something like this! Rude not to really!

Deze zien er goed uit! In Nederland zijn ze in die droge hete periode allemaal verbrand.
Alleen die in de schaduw stonden hebben het gered.

Really well focused Keith. If they are high on the bush, the birds get them and if they are low, well right in a dogs path! You'll have to get picking and make some jam :-)) A beautiful shot.

Our hedgerows too are full of berries especially blackberries. We always eat a few on our travels past them. The time will soon be past though. Great capture here. Well done.

in de heide hier vlakbij zag ik er ook heel veel die de zon hebben weerstaan KEITH -op de grote heiweg waren de mensen er wel al vroeger aan het plukken--en het pad in terworm staat het er vol mee ook hele rijpe --mooie foto mooie bokeh Keith
