Bei den zur Zeit hohen Temperaturen kommen natürlich auch die Schmetterlinge in Fortpflanzungsstimmung. Im Bild ein Paar vom Schachbrettfalter (Melanargia galathea), das Männchen unten (schwarz-weiß), das Weibchen oben (gelblich-weiß). Beim Fotografieren flog das Paar fest miteinander verbunden davon, um weiter weg zu landen und dort die Kopulation (Übertragung von Spermazellen) fortzusetzen.
