This may be Theodore A. Petzold, who was listed as a dentist in southern California. I've never seen a neon dentist sign like that, and it's also interesting to see that he lists "X-ray" below his name.

These are friends of a patron's mother. I believe, from looking at the many photos the patron gave to me, that the family emigrated from Germany, were in Vermont for awhile, moved to Ohio and then to southern California. So this is probably Theodore. Thanks, Alan!
And I hadn't spotted the "x-ray" - good eye!
